Artquest provides free critical engagement and practical support to London's visual artists and craftspeople working with practitioners in this region throughout their careers. Research carried out before Artquest was created in 2001 discovered that demand for advice and information from an individual artist is uneven: at times the need for support may be intensive; at others the same artist may need no new information or advice for months. Whatever this pattern, the research also confirmed that artists need access to advice and information throughout their working lives.

Artquest provides this practical support mostly on our website, but helps encourage growth and sophistication in the visual arts in London through a series of ongoing critically engaged events and projects.

The Artquest programme is funded jointly by Arts Council England, London office, and the University of the Arts London, and began in December 2001.
